Our sessions are based on the Athletics Australia FIT model and long-term athlete development principles. We provide a fun, supportive and engaging environment where athletes can develop physical literacy, confidence and sport-specific skills at an age-appropriate pace.

Whether your child is taking their first steps in athletics or striving for performance goals, we have a squad to suit their stage of development.

Building athletic skills, confidence and a love of movement

Athletic Allstars is a fun and engaging session designed to help young athletes develop the fundamental skills needed for athletics and sport. Through a variety of running, jumping, throwing and movement-based activities, athletes build confidence, coordination and athletic ability in a supportive environment.

With athletes ranging from Kindy to Year 6, sessions are carefully adapted to suit different ages, abilities and stages of development. Activities are regularly differentiated and athletes may be grouped according to age or experience to ensure everyone is appropriately challenged and supported.

Athletes will develop:

  • Speed, agility and coordination
  • Running, jumping and throwing skills
  • Balance, body awareness and movement efficiency
  • Confidence and resilience
  • Teamwork and sportsmanship
  • A lifelong love of movement and physical activity

Sessions are designed to be active, inclusive and enjoyable while helping athletes build strong foundations for athletics, cross country and a wide range of other sports.

Suitable for: Athletes aged 6–12 years.

Help your child run faster, move better and build confidence

Athletic Allstars is designed for primary school athletes who want to develop athletic skills in a fun, engaging and supportive environment.

Our sessions focus on improving running technique, speed, agility, coordination and overall athleticism while helping children build confidence and enjoy being active. Athletes will learn fundamental athletics skills through a variety of games, drills and activities that keep training enjoyable and age-appropriate.

With experienced coaches leading the way, children are encouraged to challenge themselves, develop resilience and build skills that support not only athletics and cross country, but many other sports as well.

Athletes will develop:

  • Speed, agility and coordination
  • Running, jumping and throwing skills
  • Improved fitness and movement efficiency
  • Confidence and body awareness
  • Athletics event foundations and technique

Sessions are adapted to suit the age, experience and stage of development of each athlete. We regularly differentiate activities and may split into smaller groups to ensure every child is appropriately challenged and supported.

Taking athletic performance to the next level

Our Development Squad is designed for athletes who are ready for more structured and specialised training. These sessions build on the foundations developed in our younger squads and help athletes improve performance through targeted coaching, progressive training and event-specific skill development.

Athletes receive greater exposure to event-specific skills and training methods while continuing to develop speed, endurance, strength and athletic confidence. Whether their goal is to improve at school sport, athletics competition or cross country, these sessions provide the tools and guidance to help them progress.

This squad is delivered across two weekly sessions:

  • Monday – Development Squad (Event Development)
    Athletes are grouped into sprint and distance training groups. Sessions focus on building the key physical qualities for their event, including endurance development, strength, speed and event-specific fitness.
  • Thursday – Track Squad (Speed & Technique)
    Both sprint and middle-distance athletes complete speed-focused training designed to improve running mechanics, acceleration, speed development and efficiency. Training is adapted by group to suit event demands.

Athletes may attend one or both sessions depending on their goals and training needs.

Athletes will develop:

  • Sprint, middle-distance and endurance fitness
  • Athletics-specific technical skills
  • Race awareness and competition readiness
  • Strength, speed and movement efficiency
  • Confidence in training and competition

Sessions are designed to challenge athletes appropriately and encourage long-term development while maintaining a positive and supportive squad environment.

Suitable for: Typically ages 10+ and athletes seeking a more focused approach to their athletic development.

Structured training for committed athletes

Our Performance Squad is designed for motivated high school athletes looking to take their speed, endurance and overall athletic performance to the next level. This squad provides advanced training that supports success in athletics, cross country and a wide range of field and team sports.

Athletes complete a shared warm-up before splitting into speed and endurance training streams to target event-specific performance.

Speed athletes develop:

  • Acceleration and maximum velocity
  • Sprint mechanics and technical efficiency
  • Strength, power and athletic performance
  • Race preparation and competition skills

Endurance athletes develop:

  • Aerobic capacity and running efficiency
  • Race pace awareness and tactical skills
  • Speed endurance and finishing strength
  • Competition readiness and resilience

With more challenging sessions, greater training expectations and a focus on long-term athletic development, this squad is ideal for athletes committed to achieving their performance goals within a supportive and motivated training environment.

Suitable for: High school athletes aged 13+.

Junior Athletic Allstars is designed for athletes in Years 3–4 who are ready to take the next step in their athletics journey. Sessions focus on developing athletics-specific skills while continuing to build confidence, coordination and overall athleticism in a fun and supportive environment.

Athletes are introduced to running, jumping and throwing techniques, sprint mechanics and basic race awareness through engaging activities that challenge them at an age-appropriate level.

Athletes will develop:

  • Running, jumping and throwing skills
  • Sprint mechanics and movement efficiency
  • Confidence in training and competition
  • Race awareness and athletic decision-making
  • A strong foundation for future athletics development

Our Before School FUNdamentals session is designed for young children in Kindergarten to Year 2 who enjoy being active, playing games and developing movement skills in a fun and relaxed environment.

These sessions focus on building confidence, coordination and physical literacy through simple athletics-based activities, games and challenges. The emphasis is on participation, enjoyment and positive movement experiences to help children start their school day in the best possible way.

Building strong, confident and resilient distance runners

Teen Endurance is designed for high school athletes who enjoy long-distance running and want to improve their performance in athletics, cross country, fun runs and endurance events.

Following a dynamic warm-up and running drills, athletes complete structured training designed to progressively develop endurance, running efficiency and race performance in a supportive squad environment.

Athletes will develop:

  • Aerobic fitness and endurance
  • Running efficiency and technique
  • Pacing, race strategy and tactical awareness
  • Speed endurance and finishing strength
  • Confidence, resilience and self-discipline
  • A lifelong enjoyment of running and physical activity

Athletes train alongside a motivated group of like-minded runners who encourage and support one another to achieve their individual goals. Whether aiming for a personal best, preparing for cross country season or simply looking to become a stronger runner, Teen Endurance provides a positive and challenging environment to help athletes reach their potential.

Suitable for: High school athletes with an interest in distance running and endurance events.

Senior Athletic Allstars is designed for athletes in Years 5–6 who are ready for greater challenge and more structured skill development. Sessions continue to build speed, agility and athleticism while introducing athletes to more advanced running, jumping and throwing techniques.

Athletes are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, challenge themselves and develop the confidence and skills needed to transition into Development Squad training.

Athletes will develop:

  • Athletics event foundations and technique
  • Running, jumping and throwing skills
  • Fitness, strength and athletic confidence
  • Goal setting, resilience and self-belief
  • Preparation for more structured athletics training
